Install and Activate Microsoft Office for Free - A Step-by-Step Guide

NOTE: If office is previously installed in your computer, you'll need to clear previous installations of Office. Uninstall the office products and run office scrubber. Download office scrubber from each of the following website. You can skip this if Office has never been installed on the machine before.

PART 1: Configuring Installation Using the Office Customization Tool

➤First go to this site.
➤Adjust the options as mentioned below.

I) Products and releases

✱ Architecture: 64-bit
• Products:

i) Office Suites - Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. [Do not select the options with SPLA.]

ii) Visio - Skip. [If you want, choose any option except Plan 2.]

iii) Project - Skip. [If you want, choose any option except Online Desktop Client.]
iv) Additional products - Skip.

✱ Update channel:

Select the update channel - Current Channel.
Select the Version - Latest.

✱ Apps:  Choose the apps you want to install.

✱ Features: Disable “Background service for Microsoft search in Bing”.

II) Language: -

Select primary language: Match Operating System

Select additional language: Skip

Select additional proofing tool: Skip

III) Installation: Skip.

IV) Update and upgrade: At the bottom, turn on "Automatically upgrade to the selected architecture”.

V) Licensing and Activation : Turn on 
"Automatically accept the licence terms"

Product key: Skip
Product activation: Skip.

VI) General: Skip.

VII) Application preferences:- Skip.

➤On the upper right of the page, press Export. 

➤Select Keep Current Settings, then OK. 
➤ Tick the checkbox for "I accept the terms in the license agreement". And click on export.
➤A file named Configuration.xml will be downloaded.
➤Make a folder named Office on your desktop. Move the Configuration.xml file to that folder.

PART 2: Installation Using the Office Deployment Tool

➤Download the Office Deployment Tool here. 
➤Open it, say Yes to the User Account Control prompt.
➤Accept the Microsoft Software License Terms (EULA). 
➤Click on Continue.
➤Select the folder OfficeInstall on the desktop where we have to place the setup.exe file.
➤A pop-up will be displayed showing "File extracted successfully". Click on OK.
➤If it was successful, you should see a setup.exe file in that folder. 
➤Open that folder in File Explorer, right click, and press Open in Terminal. This is for Windows 11, See this article on how to open the terminal in a specific folder if you're on Windows 10.
➤At the terminal, paste this code.

.\setup.exe /configure Configuration.xml

 and press enter on your keyboard. Say Yes to the User Account Control (UAC) prompt if one appears, and wait until the installation finishes.
➤Stay online! Do not go offline or shut your device down until the installation finishes.
➤Restart your device when installation is done.

PART 3: Activating with MAS

➤Open the Terminal if you're on Windows 11, or PowerShell if you're on Windows 10.
➤Paste this command and hit enter.

➤You will promoted to a new window. 
➤Press 2 in keyboard .
➤Wait till it shows Office is Permanently Activated.
